This past Sunday, OG Kicks hosted our first community football tournament in Brighton, at the Hove Park 3G ground.
The tournament was free to enter through our Instagram account at @OGKICKSBrighton and promised each winning team member £50 in-store credit to spend at our Brighton store.
With a hefty prize up for grabs, the sign-ups came flooding in and we ended up with a total of 14 teams participating. They were then split into two groups of under-17s and over-17s to battle against their age group in a knock-out style tournament.
It was at 1pm that the tournament finally kicked off in spectacular style with two teams from the under-17s showing the crowd what they're made of. The age groups then took turns battling against their bracket on the pitch, with all in attendance gunning for that grand prize.
There were bucket-loads of skill on display in Hove Park that day, and we’d like to give a big thank you to all the OG’s who made it such an incredible event. If there was one thing we’d learnt by the end of all the excitement, it was that our OG Kicks community can really ball!
At 6pm the tournament came to a close, and the pitch was flooded with exhausted but happy faces. The under-17 final came down to some nail-biting penalties which felt like they’d never end as both teams kept putting them away!
Well done and thank you to everyone who was involved that day, but especially to the tournament winners MO Don's (under-17s) and Nike FC (Over-17s) who each secured that sweet £50 in-store credit to put towards whatever fresh kicks they desire.
